Dickie Braddick 20/4/2022   Today, we endure the saddest of days, Leaving us empty, in so many ways. Though brightened by memories made, Built stronger, through stories relayed.   For Dickie was a special breed, At work or family, born to lead, A feisty character, such clear views Rely on Dickie to challenge the news!   But this was a man full of love; Generous and fun without kid glove. Always there for a friend in need Listened, questioned, to plant a seed.   A Yorkshire lad, whose parents knew He’d fly the nest and make what’s due. In Jean and Keith, two shining stars Work hard ethic; passion for cars   When Uni-bound he found some mates Drinking, sports, fun and fetes. The Directors became his home to be, His future path, for all to see   Exhibition stands became his trade, Life on the road often made, Shirts and hats from RB Design Filling attics including mine. Fast and furious cars his style, Speedo prone to break the dial Courtroom dates, many a time Hello copper, what’s the fine?   With Anne-Marie, a baby spree Two bouncing girls upon his knee. A Dad in training, he did start Taking to it from the heart.   A shining light or rod of steel Imo and Zara knew the deal. Always looking for their best Dad’s law often put to the test   Marrying Lou, wow what a bride! They took to life, bursting with pride. Always interested in people they met, Happy to explore wherever they set     With wedding bells, he had the glue The Bradwin family shepherded by Lou A guiding hand; unwavering support Right til the end, while Dickie fought.   Through George he found male bond Leeds & banter he was fond. Taking Dickie in a new direction Teenage boundaries needing reflection!   In the end, he was digging deep Still positive, even whilst asleep. To all the staff we say ‘thank you’, From Imo, George, Zara and Lou     Moving forward, with memories dear A future ahead, the message is clear: To George, Imo and Zara too Go, conquer the world, we’re all with you   So here’s where we end, with Dad’s advice, Make the most of life, you don’t live twice. Cherish your close family and keep them near, With this and friendship, you have nothing to fear.
